I love gift bags, they are too easy, but usually get wasted.
For a recent Cookie Swap, we wanted to come up with a cute way to collect all the cookies for each person into something reusable. We went to the dollar store first. Found these cute little bins, they are about 6" tall and wide. We also bought color tissue paper that coordinates with the bin colors. Then on to the craft store and found these thin wooden hearts. My idea was to paint the hearts with chalkboard paint, it comes in cans and a spray paint.
I took the wooden hearts and drilled a small hole in the corner of each so that they would hang sideways. We bought 3/4" jump rings in the jewelry making section of the craft store (Joanns) that I got the hearts at.
We then painted them on both sides with chalkboard paint making sure to paint the side edges.
Using the jump rings, attach the hearts to the handle of the bin. So easy!!
Your friends and family will appreciate getting something they can reuse, even if it is just to use as a gift bin again.
